Pair of BELDEN Brilliance 1505F interconnect cables
Low capacitance, unbalanced 75Ohm interconnect cables for line level, analogue audio applications.
The 1505F is the ideal cable for those who prefer to use unbalanced interconnect cables for line level applications. Although it is manufactured as a high precision 75 Ohm digital cable, the 1505F has much higher specifications than most unbalanced “audio”, “microphone”, and “instrument” cables that are typically used on analogue applications.
Its very low capacitance (55.7pF/m) along with a heavy gauge conductor of 22AWG will meet and, exceed the requirements of most analogue audio set-ups. In addition, it is very well shielded using two overlapping braided shields.
In comparison to most of the other 75 Ohm cables that have similar electrical characteristics, the 1505F offers the advantage of a higher degree of flexibility.
The 1505F has a diameter of 6.15mm.
The cable assembly listed here is intended for use as an analogue – not digital cable.
In our opinion the Belden 1505F is one of the best unbalanced, factory produced, analogue audio cables for studio and hi-fi. And this is regardless taking into consideration brand names and pricing.
We have selected this cable because it combines a number of characteristics that are particularly important in such applications:
-Very low capacitance in comparison to most instrument, microphone, symmetrical/balanced and generic audio cables.
-Heavy gauge - pure copper - signal conductor to ensure minimum resistance and durability.
-Extremely high grade of shielding offering full coverage, very high skin depth
-A good degree of flexibility and not very thick profile comparison to other coaxial cables that have similar electrical characteristics.
The combination of the above is essential for high fidelity analogue audio and it is what most audio cables lack of.
For those of you who would prefer to use a symmetrical / balanced cable for unbalanced audio connections please feel free to get in touch and we will happily offer some suggestions.
